This poem comes from the struggle of existing in this world today, but also struggling with oneself and one’s own denial/forgetfulness of our power. The external mirrors the internal, and vice versa. Structure is crumbling, chaos emerging. We need something to hold on to and believe in.
The rope we all hold onto is our faith in god. We may fail but it is hope that keeps us going. So don't lose hope for hope is the only thing that will keep us going
And may we all share rope holds with one another and if needed cast others a line -- not just through the looming crises but as a new normal neighborliness (I'm seeing a Mr. Rogers smile)
I love Mr Rogers! He is one of my heroes. I whole-heartedly agree with your sentiment, Paul. As someone who struggles to ask others for help, I have noticed a decline in general neighborliness over the years. But then again, maybe I am part of the problem. May we strengthen our rope hold so we have the strength to extend it onto others.
The voice over is very calming and comforting.
Thank you!☺️
In a couple of lines, you summed up how I feel about the US 💔
"risk being ripped apart
by the contradictions running rampant"
I feel your pain, Jamal.
